Rock The Vote NZ Party Leader

Chartered Civil Engineer | Political Advocate | Lifelong Learner

With nearly four decades of experience in the architectural, engineering, and construction industries, I’ve built a career rooted in precision, curiosity, and adaptability. Originally from the UK, I brought a broad and diverse skillset to New Zealand in 2019 - spanning structural design, multi-disciplinary engineering, and project leadership across residential, commercial, medical, retail, defence, and leisure sectors.

As a Chartered Professional Engineer and Chartered Civil Engineer, I’ve worked on everything from traditional restorations to complex, innovative builds, using standards from the UK, US, Europe, and New Zealand. My fascination with science and the built environment has been matched only by my love of travel - a pairing that’s shaped my dynamic career path and enriched my global perspective.

Before settling in New Zealand, I advised clients on high-security infrastructure and design strategies. These ranged from structural resilience to risk assessments in counter-terrorism, hostile vehicle mitigation, and casualty modelling -a real-world blend of engineering with human vulnerability science.

But engineering isn’t my only frontier. Like many, I became deeply concerned by government overreach during New Zealand’s pandemic response. The erosion of individual freedoms and national autonomy led me to speak up - and step into the political arena.

After witnessing what took place at the Posie Parker event at Albert Park, I joined the Committee of Rock The Vote NZ, where I now maintain our website, YouTube channel, Substack and Meetup group, and host our community Movie Nights.

My goal? To build RTV NZ into a registered political party ahead of the 2026 General Election and encourage the rise of thoughtful, principled leadership in our country. I believe the role of Party Leader should be earned - not inherited - and I welcome the challenge.

I advocate for truth in the face of authority. I am resolute in my belief that fostering intelligent, rational discourse on matters integral to New Zealand's future - such as climate, sustainability, and diversity - is imperative.

I believe that each person must be judged as an individual by their character and actions and not as a member of a group defined by race, gender, sexuality, religion, or other group characteristic.

My leadership style is simple: competence without conviction is hollow. If you won’t stand for what you believe in, how can you lead?

My focus will be on growing the membership and registering RTV NZ as a political party. I recognize that the role of Party Leader is an honorary one and I expect to be challenged next year as we prepare for the 2026 General Election. My primary aspiration lies in channelling my professional acumen towards nurturing the next cohort of political leaders.
